Range Information
The CDC Series 2000 Lead Carbon Gel Batteries use activated carbon and graphene materials, which are added to the negative plate of the battery to make these batteries have the advantages of both lead-acid batteries and super capacitors. It not only improves the ability of rapid charge and discharge, but also greatly prolongs the battery life. These batteries are specially designed for daily heavy cyclic discharge use which can recharge with a low boost charge voltage. Especially suitable in applications of ‘Partial State of Charge’ (PSOC) conditions, in particular the rigorous demands in Marine, RV, Renewable Energy, and Material Handling daily use. The 100% Pure Gel Electrolyte, with anti-corrosion properties also helps increase the Battery Life to up to 15 years.
The DC Power GEL series is a collection of heavy-duty 2, 6 & 12 volt Gel c batteries manufactured by Ritar, one of the largest multi-range battery manufacturers in the world.
The DC Power Carbon Gel range are part of a wider DC series, which features flooded, AGM & Gel batteries to suit a variety of applications & usage patterns.
Technology Low-Down
The GEL Carbon series features a range of Gel lead-acid batteries, designed specifically for traction and cyclic applications. The batteries in the DC GEL Carbon series are more resilient to greater depths of discharge than their regular Gel counterparts.
Gel Carbon is a market-leader in lead-acid technology, fusing a premium electrolyte composition with robust tubular plates.
Inside a battery of Gel technology, the electrolyte is suspended in a thick silica-type paste that allows electrons to flow between plates. This design brings many advantages such as being entirely maintenance-free, having an exceptionally low rate of self-discharge and being more resistant to accidental abuse or misuse than a traditional flooded battery.
Like AGMs, Gel batteries can be mounted in any orientation without the risk of leakage. They also don’t require maintenance – particularly useful for machines that are utilised by a number of different people. An important point to note is that due to the sensitivity of the technology, Gel batteries require either close attention to charging settings or their own specialised charger.
Please ensure your charging method can accommodate GEL batteries as charging at non GEL charge settings can adversely affect the life of the battery. Please contact us if you are unsure.
